With the rapid development of wood-based panel industry, China has been the largest producer, consumer and trader of wood-based panels in the world.

The consumption of adhesives applied in wood-based panels also kept growing.   

 In 2020, China’s wood-based panel industry consumed a total of 15.61 million tonnes of adhesives (100% solid), including 15.42 million tonnes of formaldehyde-based adhesives, 80,000 tons of bio adhesives, 65,000 tons of isocyanate adhesives (about 0.4% of the total) and 15,000 tons of lignin adhesives.
